The Garmsar Distributed Generation (DG) power plant is located 5 kilometers from Garmsar city, within the Garmsar Industrial Park. The facility occupies an area of approximately 4,000 square meters and is situated 60 meters from the Shahid Ahmadi high-voltage substation.

The power plant design includes six 2-megawatt gas-fired generator units (model CG170 V20) from the Caterpillar brand. To date, one unit was commissioned in the summer of 2021. According to the project timeline, the remaining units are scheduled to be developed, connected to the national grid, and fully operational by the spring of 2023.

The generators utilized at the Garmsar plant are among the most advanced and high-quality models available in the global market, boasting a favorable efficiency with an electrical efficiency rate of 43.7%. The plant operates on natural gas, and under optimal weather conditions, it is capable of producing 2 megawatts per unit when the power setpoint is adjusted to 100%.
